The Engineering Library
Why it matters
A good rack spec or load type takes time to get right. Once it is right, you want it in every scenario and every future project for that client, unchanged, with a record of when it changed.
In plain words
The Engineering Library is a shared shelf of templates for one client. A template saved there can be used from any scenario of that client. Templates are versioned: saving a change creates version 2 and keeps version 1 exactly as it was, so a design built on version 1 can always say which version it used.
What goes in it
| Template | Saved from |
|---|---|
| Rack specs | The Rack library's Save to library. |
| Load types | The Load types page's Save to library. |
| Equipment | Real machine datasheets, in place of the indicative catalogue figures. |
| Vehicles | A copy of a design vehicle with its datasheet values edited. |
In Warehouse Studio
- Save: on a rack spec or load type, click Save to library. A changed template offers Save as v2 (and so on).
- Use: in the Rack library, the Preset list groups templates under Library · … beside the built-in AU standard presets. The Load types page lists them under Engineering library.
- Trace: a rack spec made from a template records which template and version it came from.
The copilot can save to the library, list it, and build from a template too: "Use the library's 'Selective 5 high' spec in Reserve."
Try it
Save the rack spec you made in Part 2 to the library. Create a new scenario in the same project and find it in the Rack library's preset list.
